I want to be a tutor because I love learning. I have enjoyed working with my professors at Hollins, as they passed on their love of literature and writing to me, and I want to pass that love on to others. I especially enjoy working one-on-one with children, as they I think they have a special exuberance and imagination that particularly benefits from the field of English. I have taken many classes in creative and analytical writing, and have a large knowledge base of both forms. I have a broad knowledge of literature, having taken many classes in British, American, Irish, and Children's lit. I was selected by the English department to write a Senior English Honors thesis, and worked all senior year on the completion of a novel. I am a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honors Society.
